According to Eurostat, Bangladesh has exported denim (the cloth that is used to make jeans) clothes worth 56 crore euro to Europe, and United States International Trade Commission says the US has imported denim clothes worth $ 18.63 crore from Bangladesh this year. Bangladeshi jeans are popular in foreign countries particularly for its cheap rate. Bangladeshi cheap labour and cheap rate of gas enable Bangladesh to sell a pair of jeans at 4 to 9 dollars. The market of denim clothes around the world is of six thousand crore dollars, where we can only export $ 350 crore to 370 crore. So still there is a big opportunity for jeans makers in this market.
